We Are In This Together: Mindful Moments + Journaling Prompts

We are in this pandemic together. Have you found that you are getting stressed thinking of getting sick? Are you depressed because some people do not have enough to eat or cannot pay their bills? Is civil unrest getting to you? Are world issues and anxiety of the future just overwhelming? These are daily things I cannot stop thinking about. It is sometimes debilitating and exhausting.

How can we help ourselves and each other in this time of transition into a brave new world? It starts with a mindful moment, several over time can make a huge difference. Here are some journaling prompts to help you process what is happening to all of us.

The following was sent to me from my former yoga teacher, Ngoc Can, who recently moved to California. She is a bright light and her soul shines to you now...

Below you will find prompts and mindful exercise for each day of the week. You can use these prompts for journaling for yourself. I give from my heart and I hope you receive what I have with openness and love.
Be well.

Monday
What have you learned about yourself through this time of worldly transition? Is this something you are proud of? Are you working on growing yourself?

Close your eyes and move inward. Take 3 deep cleansing breaths, in through your nose & out through your mouth. Visualize vivid violet. Let this color surround your energetic body. Allow violet to seep through your skin and swim in your being. Connect to your inner light & let this guide you. You already have the answers.

Tuesday
What grounds you?

Close your eyes and take 3 deep cleansing breaths; inhale through your nose, exhale out of your mouth. Feel where you are. Take in the sounds, sensations on the skin. Bring awareness to your feet, you are grounded. Feel your legs, you are strong and able. Bring awareness to your hips, breathe into your belly, pause at your heart space, send gratitude to your heart. Feel the sensations of your finger tips, your arms. Feel your lips, smile. Send breath all the way up to your crown. Breathe in the color red; let this hue surround your aura, let it run through the texture of your skin. Red seeps through your being. You are grounded, you are love, you are here. You are here, you are here. You are.

Wednesday
If you could give a TED talk about anything, what would it be about? Is this something you are passionate about? What work are you doing to support your passions?

Find a quiet space to move inward. Close your eyes and take 3 deep cleansing breaths. Start to relax your body starting from your feet. As you inhale and exhale slowly, visualize the color yellow. Let this hue take up space around your body and then slowly let this color move into your being. Yellow is connected to our solar plexus chakra. This energy brings us back to our joy, self love and creativity. Invite in yellow when you need inspiration.

Thursday
Have you ever felt like you did not belong somewhere? Share your experience with someone.

Friday
Would you be friends with yourself? What attributes do you admire about yourself?

Saturday
What are some ways you like to share your joys and your love with others?

Sunday
To share is to love, to listen is to love, to work is to love. Do all things with love. What needs more love in your life?
Journaling for well-being is one of the tools we should all be using in some form right now. Getting all that stuff out of heads and processing it is healthy and even if you don't think it does much, you will be surprised after a week how powerful it really is.
We hope you are inspired to try these for a week, let us know how you do!
