May is Mental Health Month: Stay At Home Edition

Have you been making mistakes, yelling when you don’t mean to, eating another cookie or having another glass of wine? Yep, we are all looking for comfort and direction. Some days are beautiful and we savor every moment, and some we are cranky and simply out of sorts. We need to lean into all of these feelings and honor them. It is all part of the human experience. All those feels are real and and no joke. Sometimes it is overwhelming to process so much all at once. We want you to know that talking about how we feel is normal and healthy. Keeping it inside and pretending it isn’t happening is never a good idea. We want you to talk to your partner, your kids, your parents, and yourself. Mental health is very important and understanding and acknowledging how you are doing is key to a happier you.

Anxiety and depression are at an all-time high, and the longer we all have COVID-19 on our minds the worse it is getting. The good news is we are in control and we have tools to deal with it. Practicing gratitude makes you more resilient. And trying a bit of mindfulness can go a long way to changing our perspective on daily life. These are tools we all have and can use immediately; anytime, anywhere.

Creativity abounds in times like these. The act of creating helps us let go, get into the right side of our brains and allows us to get into flow state. Every aspect of our life is challenged right now and we are forced to come up with new ways of doing things. Finding ways to pull together as team, as a community, as a family, we learn to become a better version of ourselves. We make with our hands and hearts: cooking more, getting crafty, being kinder and more helpful.  Learning new things about ourselves and others, taking the time to rediscover lost passions and find new ones, these all encourage us to step out of our comfort zone and grow as individuals. Ultimately creating more love and light in the world.

From the beginning, we have been all about the creative spirit and finding flow. Last year we created a line of wellness products that are so very timely. Learning to cope with what is happening and the unknown going forward is vital. We are strong, capable and resilient. And we all need some help sometimes. The sooner we master these the skills, the better we are to sit in each moment. May you find comfort in these kits and ideas for yourself or for others.
