Smith Corona Riviera (Sterling) c. 1963

The name Riviera reminds one of luxury and romance.  This early 1960's portable typewriter may be one of the very last of the highly regarded Smith Corona "Super 5" series that began way back in the 1940's.  This one is essentially a Silent Super under the hood with the Riviera name badge.  Later model Rivieras were both manual and electric and of somewhat lesser quality than this typewriter you see here.  This makes us think that this typewriter was among the very last of the great Smith Coronas; possibly the best portable typewriter they ever built!

Superb condition and smooth typing. Comes with original hard shell case.
