On Saturday, April 20th, we filled up our Ybor City location wall to wall with all things TRAVELER'S COMPANY and hosted a celebration of the cult brand. People and their notebooks came from all over the state of Florida to join the celebration, and shared their love of personalizing and customizing with a TRAVELER'S notebook.
Much of the inspiration in look and feel came from a recent trip that Tona and Randy took to Japan. There, they visited the flagship TRAVELER'S FACTORY in Tokyo and experienced the pure essence of the brand. We wanted to reflect all the values of the TRAVELER'S notebook: it is adventurous, it lights up your creativity, and it sets you free.
At 2pm, the event officially kicked off. It didn't take long for our Ybor location to fill up.
A special feature of the event were stamps sent direct from the TRAVELER'S FACTORY in Japan to our studio in Tampa. These are stamps that are only available at their flagship in Tokyo. For one time only, we had them available for use at our pop-up.
People got stamp-crazy and stamped notebooks, inserts, luggage tags, and anything else they could find.
April was not only a month for TRAVELER'S: it's also National Poetry Month! We set up our vintage Typewriter Bar at our window facing historic 7th Avenue where people could type up a haiku that they could save as a memory of their day.
Perhaps the most exciting exhibit in the day was the brand new 2019 product line from the TRAVELER'S COMPANY. Already an amazing tool to customize and personalize, now there's a whole new collection of ways to tailor your TRAVELER'S notebook.
We got the very first look at the new product line for 2019, and enjoyed a presentation on the many ways each one can be used for your own needs and enjoyment.
In a room full of TRAVELER'S enthusiasts, we went around sharing how we use our TRAVELER'S notebooks and inserts, and gained inspiration for our own journey on paper. Many of us also saw more TRAVELER'S notebooks in one room at one time than we ever had in our life.
Local lettering artist Emily Wagner of Bon Vivant designs lent her hands and her creativity for free notebook customizations during the event. Attendees walked away with truly one-of-a-kind notebooks at the end of the event.
The bow that wrapped the package was the giveaway drawings at the end of the event. Congrats to our winners who won some amazing and exclusive TRAVELER'S goodies!
We had an incredible time sharing ideas and spreading the joy of TRAVELER'S notebooks. This event kicks off a month-long exhibition of all things TRAVELER'S COMPANY at our Ybor City location, through the month of May. Come experience the adventure and get inspired!
