Our Ybor City Winter Pop-Up is Extending Into the Spring

This past Fall was a busy season for us at The Paper Seahorse.

In October, we had a fun, somewhat teary-eyed, look back at how much we had grown for our 3rd Year Anniversary.

It was right around that time that we began undergoing plans for a new adventure.

Helping people digitally detox, having more analog experiences, learning to slow down and savor a more mindful way of living – this is what drives us.

After the anniversary celebrations, we knew we wanted to reach a wider audience, to see more people embracing creativity and mindfulness. By November, the news was official: We would be opening our first ever Ybor City Winter pop-up shop in the historic East End of Ybor.

Called The Paper Seahorse x Frivolous Dry Goods, it took our passion for analog, curiosity, and creativity with a more adventurous approach.

Working with a blank canvas on 7th Avenue, we got our creative juices flowing and had a blast designing the inside of the new location.

Every step along the way gave us another buzz of excitement: Getting the dictionary page wall up, installing the vintage photo murals, seeing if we could get away with writing “Tell the Fucking Truth” in giant letters on our wall.

Debuting just in time for the holidays, our Winter pop-up officially opened its doors very aptly on Small Business Saturday. The response we received from visitors was incredible.

More and more people were walking in the door, starving for analog experiences, and never knowing about our South Howard location. It made us so happy every time someone walked in and we heard “I’ve been looking for a place like this!” or “I never knew there was something like this!” or just a good old-fashioned, “Wow!”

The holidays have come and gone, and Winter is soon to finish its course, but the holiday Winter pop-up shop is staying. We decided that we just couldn’t pack up yet, and so we are extending The Paper Seahorse x Frivolous Dry Goods pop-up into the Spring!

Our pop-up is all about embracing the creative and curious, so we’ll see what happens this season. A lot of our first-time visitors are now becoming second-time, and third-time, and fourth-time visitors. The pop-up is becoming a refuge of sorts for Yborians looking for a digital detox, to recharge their creative batteries among the writing tools and paper.

If you still have not visited the new pop-up shop in Ybor City, this is our invitation to you. Come find out what makes this special little pop-up so special, and visit us on 7th Avenue in beautiful, historic Ybor City.
